Nuffnang Community Go Green to Save Sumatran Rhino

A community like Nuffnang should never merely be known just for organizing events to bring bloggers together. A respectable community is not just one that brings good things upon itself, but also unto others; be it using its influence to help others outside the community, a charity foundation or an environmental organization.

Today, we fulfill that dream.

The Sumatran rhino is one of five known species of the rhinoceros family and is considered a Malaysian heritage, being the only rhino species found in Malaysia. It is also “the most seriously endangered species of large mammals in the world” with only an estimated 300 of them left in the world.

In January 2006, Honda initiated the Honda – WWF Rhino Rescue Project and pledged RM5,000,000 over a period of 5 years to save the Sumatran Rhino. The project marked the very first corporate sponsorship dedicated to the Sumatran Rhino.

Today the thousands of us Nuffnangers can too lend a helping hand and it does not require the equivalent millions that Honda has pledged. It too does not require the courage or commitment that these men have put in to save the Sumatran Rhino.

All we need to do is what us bloggers do best:
Using our blogs as a medium to broadcast the existence of such initiatives, that even children in school have caught hold of.

If you’d like to be part of the Nuffnang Community to save our Sumatran Rhino, embed the Save the Rhinos logo on your blog, write about the Honda – WWF Rhino Rescue Project or support the initiative in whatever way you deem fit.

Today is the day we prove that blogging community is indeed… a powerful one.
